Chapter 4 - The Boardroom Eviction: Kicking The Mistress Out Of My Penthouse

By noon, the rain had started to fall over Manhattan.
A black Mercedes-Maybach pulled up to the grand awning of 740 Park Avenue, tires
splashing through the puddles. Selena stepped out under an umbrella held by
Flynn’s private driver, expecting the doorman to bow as usual.
Instead, she was met by two towering men in tactical private security suits
standing behind a heavy velvet barrier.
“Excuse me,” Selena sneered, flicking her wet hair over her shoulder. “Move this
rope. I am moving into the penthouse today.”
“Name?” the lead security guard asked flatly, holding an electronic tablet.
“Selena Croft. Mr. Flynn Vance’s personal guest.”
“Ms. Croft,” the guard replied without an ounce of emotion. “You are not on the
authorized resident list. Furthermore, we have an active trespass order signed
by the property owner, Mrs. Mabel Sterling-King. You are barred from entering
the premises.”
“Property owner?” Selena shrieked, her face turning pale. “Flynn owns this
building! His family has lived here for generations!”
At that moment, the double glass doors of the lobby swung open.
Four private movers stepped out onto the granite steps, carrying large designer
trunks and rolling racks of expensive clothes wrapped in clear garment bags.
They dumped them mercilessly beneath the secondary awning on the street corner.
“What are you doing with my things?” Selena screamed, rushing forward. “Those
are Chanel coats! Those are my baby’s nursery sets!”
“They’re on the street where they belong,” a cool, sharp voice echoed from
behind the glass doors.
Rachel Bennett stepped out onto the top step, dressed in an immaculate charcoal
power suit, holding a leather folder of legal injunctions.
“Ms. Croft,” Rachel smiled with razor-sharp precision. “Under New York State
property law, unauthorized individuals attempting to occupy residential trust
assets are subject to immediate removal and civil penalties. If you take one
step past this awning, you will be arrested for felony criminal trespass.”
Flynn’s black towncar screeched to a halt at the curb. Flynn burst out of the
back door, his tie undone, his face livid with fury.
“Rachel!” Flynn bellowed, charging up the steps toward the lawyer. “Tell Mabel
to stop this childish tantrum right now! Where is she? I demand to speak to my
wife!”
Rachel looked down at him with pure disdain.
“Mrs. Vance is currently resting with her newborn daughter, who is healthy,
beautiful, and completely unimpressed by your existence,” Rachel said coldly.
“As for speaking to her—any further communication from you, Flynn, will go
through my office. And you might want to check your email. Your emergency board
meeting has been moved to 3:00 PM.”
“I’m the CEO!” Flynn roared. “I set the board meetings!”
May you like
“Not anymore,” Rachel replied, stepping back inside and watching the heavy
bronze doors close in Flynn’s face. “Not anymore.”
