Chapter 15 - Clara’s First Steps In The Sun: A Real Father’s Vow & A Queen’s Empire (THE END)

One year later, the sprawling gardens of the Sterling-King estate in the
Hamptons were decorated with pastel balloons, white roses, and laughter for
Clara’s first birthday.
Executives, family friends, and community leaders gathered on the lawn, watching
the little girl in her white lace dress giggle as she wobbled across the soft
grass.
Suddenly, Clara let go of the low garden chair and took three wobbly, confident
steps forward on her own.
“Mabel, look!” Julian laughed, kneeling down on the grass with open arms. “She’s
walking!”
Clara tumbled straight into Julian’s strong, welcoming arms, squealing with
delight. Julian lifted her high into the air, spinning her around under the warm
golden sunshine while Clara’s joyful giggles filled the afternoon air.
Julian set her gently on his hip, walked over to where I was standing, and
wrapped his free arm around my waist, pulling me close against his side.
On my left ring finger gleamed a custom cushion-cut sapphire surrounded by pavé
diamonds—the ring Julian had placed there during his private proposal under the
cherry blossoms in Central Park three weeks ago.
“Look at our little girl, Mama,” Julian whispered into my hair, kissing my
temple with profound love.
I looked at my daughter, radiant and safe, and then at the man who had chosen to
be her true father in every way that mattered.
Flynn Vance had thought he was erasing our daughter when he walked out of that
delivery room. Instead, he had only cleared the path for a real man to step in
and build a true family with us.
I rested my head against Julian’s shoulder as Clara reached out her tiny hands
to touch my cheek.
We had survived the fire. We had reclaimed our power. And together, we had built

an empire of unconditional love that would stand strong for generations to come.
