Chapter 10 - Beatrice's New Dawn

Lorenzo led Beatrice up the grand staircase, past the damaged master bedroom,
and into the east wing of the estate—the private, sun-drenched penthouse suite
overlooking the manicured gardens and the bay.

He opened the double doors to reveal a magnificent room lined with
floor-to-ceiling windows, plush ivory rugs, and a massive private terrace.

"This is your room now," Lorenzo said.

Beatrice stared at the luxury around her, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Lorenzo, I can't stay here. This is a guest suite for dignitaries and foreign
business partners. I'm... I'm just Beatrice."

"You are the woman who saved my life and saved this entire organization from
destruction," Lorenzo said firmly, stepping closer until he stood directly in
front of her. "There is no dignitary on this earth more important to me than
you."

He reached out and gently removed the white maid's cap from her head, letting
her thick, beautiful brown curls tumble freely over her shoulders.

Beatrice’s breath caught in her throat. Her heart hammered against her ribs like
a trapped bird.

"Lorenzo..." she whispered, her voice trembling. "Why are you looking at me like
that?"

"Like what?"

"Like... like I'm someone worth looking at."

A deep, painful sorrow touched Lorenzo’s eyes. He brought his hands up to cup
her soft cheeks, his thumbs gently wiping away the remnants of soot and tears.

"Because you are breathtaking, Beatrice," Lorenzo said, his voice dropping into
a tender, passionate register. "For two years, I watched you walk through this
house with your head down. I saw how hard you worked, how kind you were to
everyone, and how you endured cruelty without ever losing your humanity. I
wanted to protect you long before tonight."

Beatrice looked into his eyes, searching for any trace of pity or deception, but
found only pure, unyielding devotion.

"I'm not like the women you usually date," she whispered, her insecurities
rising. "I don't have a tiny waist. I don't wear designer dresses. I take up too
much space."

"You take up exactly the right amount of space," Lorenzo replied without a
second of hesitation. "You have curves that a real man dreams of holding, a face
that belongs in a museum, and a heart that outshines every diamond in Miami. The
world told you to be small because they were too blind to handle your
greatness."

Tears spilled over Beatrice’s eyelashes, warm and cleansing.

Lorenzo leaned down and gently kissed her forehead, then her cheeks, and
finally, his lips found hers.

The kiss was slow, deep, and electric.

Beatrice felt a wave of heat rush through her entire body. She leaned into him,
her hands coming up to rest against his strong chest, feeling the steady,
powerful beat of his heart.

When they finally parted, Lorenzo rested his forehead against hers, their breath
mingling in the morning light.

"Get some rest, Beatrice," Lorenzo murmured. "Tonight, Miami is going to meet
the new Lady of the Falcone family."
