For ten long years, my phone never once rang with a call from my daughter. A decade of complete silence.

Forced Out by My Own Blood
For ten long years, my phone never once rang with a call from my daughter. A decade of complete silence. She cut all ties, abandoning me to fend for myself from the day her father passed away, leaving me to battle arthritis and crippling loneliness all alone in this empty house. Yet yesterday, she suddenly showed up at my doorstep alongside her opportunistic husband, carrying a fake smile and a calculated embrace.
She claimed she came back because she was "worried about Mom," unable to bear the thought of her aging mother living all by herself. She and her husband had already prepared a contract for an assisted living facility in the suburbs, painting a picture of a paradise where I would receive 24/7 medical care. But did she really think I was so senile that I wouldn't notice her husband’s shifty eyes scanning the house and tapping on the wooden pillars? Or the Power of Attorney document visibly peeking out from her purse?
What was the real motive behind this "belated filial piety"? This house sits on a piece of land that is skyrocketing in value, and her husband is drowning in debt after failed business ventures in California. They want to throw me into a nursing home, turning me into a legally homeless person, just so they can gain the right to sell the house that my husband and I spent our entire lives sweating, bleeding, and paying off mortgages to build.
I stood there in the kitchen, watching the daughter I once loved more than life itself using sweet words to back her own mother into a corner. The moment I firmly refused, their true colors instantly surfaced. My son-in-law coldly calculated the costs, saying: "Why are you holding onto this house when you won't even live another ten years? Sell it so we can invest. That's how a mother should help her children!" Then, my daughter screamed at me, calling me selfish for clinging to a pile of bricks while ruining her future.
It turns out, in the eyes of the daughter I haven't seen in ten years, I am not a mother. I am merely a flesh-and-blood obstacle standing in the way of their cash flow. They want to strip away every ounce of my dignity, my freedom, and the very roof over my head that shelters me in my final years.
My heart is utterly shattered. I am disgusted by their hypocrisy and terrified of being pushed to the brink by my own flesh and blood, right inside my own home. Please read my full story in the comments below and give me some advice: What can I do to protect myself?
